Fried Chicken Lunch/Dinner

HELP WANTED SHARON UMC CHICKEN LUNCH/DINNER

Our CHICKEN lunch/dinner is scheduled for May 17, 2013 and many people are needed to make this event a success. Our goal is to serve 500 – 600 meals; this requires a lot of support from our members/friends. We need people to package and deliver meals for lunch, cook chicken, package cole slaw and desserts, and cook green beans. We also need individuals to wash dishes and cleanup the Social Hall when we finish working for the dinner. This event is part of our overall Fall Bazaar and is an ideal way to meet your neighbors and make friends. Drop this tear off in the offering plate if you’re willing to help.

Loaves and Fishes Bread Ministry

The Loaves and Fishes Bread Ministry will be giving out free bread on Tuesdays from 10 -12 in the Fellowship Hall. It is open to all that are interested.

The United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women meet the 3rd Thursday of the month at 8 pm. We welcome women of all ages to attend and enjoy our meetings.

The organized unit of the United Methodist Women is a community whose PURPOSE is

1) to know God

2) to experience freedom as a whole persons through Jesus Christ

3) to develop a creative, supportive fellowship

4) to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church

Missions Moment

Collecting toiletries and personal items- Deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brush, razors, shaving cream, soap, shampoo, feminine products, etc. These items are to be used for our local schools as well as the homeless.

Comfort Socks- Sharon UMC Missions is proud to support this great mission of giving a clean pair of socks to the homeless.

The first Sunday of every month is “Food Pantry Sunday”. Please leave your donated non perishables in the large box in the Education Building.

Sharon UMC has volunteer opportunities at 2 food pantries. If you are interested in volunteering, please call Darla Bolinger @ 616-8978

Sharon UMC will be a host site for BCHC/Streetreach on February 4-8th, 2013. If you would like to volunteer in any way such as a meal, music, or other specialty (haircut, nursing, etc.) please call Darla Bolinger at 616-8978. Our Team Captain for the week will be Lloyd Gladden. We are excited to be able to reach out to our local brothers and sisters in this way and look forward to our congregation showing them Gods love.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

We meet on Fridays at 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall and would love for you to join us. We continue to prayerfully make prayer shawls and preemie hats for area hospitals, Hospice centers and individuals.
